Venue - Palic
Let�s introduce you to the one of the most attractive touristic resorts in Serbia: Palic Lake, which is laying over on the 113 ha surface area, stretched along northern Serbian - Hungarian border, 7 km to the south-east of the city of Subotica.
In the middle of 19th century, a Spa with picnic resort was established on the north bank of the lake, due to curative quality of its waters and mud. In 1840 planting of a parkland began in the south part of the presently existing park, modelled upon English greeneries.
The very first facilities were constructed in 1845 within the park (restaurant, stables, bath) in addition to provide a hot and cold baths, built in 1852. Organized parcelling of the grounds aimed for villas and vineyards commenced in 1853 to the west of the park, based on the plan by the city architect Janos Szkultety, as well as new construction works (The Park hotel, restaurant Mala gostionica, Administration building).
Palic, as we know today, saw its flourish at the end of 19th century, when a number of glamorous villas were erected within the park apart from public Spa facilities in the Grand park. The Jezero Hotel was built in 1909-1911, modelled upon the Park Hotel.
Mineral water springs have a temperature of 25 degrees Centigrade, and mud of the lake is rich in very important mineral substances of curative characteristics. That is the reason why the Palic Lake is considered a Spa resort..
For its high environmental values and natural characteristics, the Palic Lake was established a protected area and a Park of Nature.The entire coast of the Lake is well arranged and it is some 17 km of pure beauty. The coast is very attractive for its walking paths, bicycle riding or coach driving paths. The lake is abundant in fishes, providing fishing lovers’ with an opportunity of an active holiday.
The guests have at their disposal fields for soccer, basketball and volleyball, tennis courts, open-air and indoor swimming pools, bowling alleys, Zoo Park and riding horses. The visitors can entertain with rowing and sailing, and in the winter with ice skating on the frozen lake, as well as with hunting in the Spa surroundings. In the vicinity of the Palic Lake there is Ludas Lake, which stands for a natural resort for many species of flora and fauna magic world.
